Did you hear about the hurricane? Yes, you did. Because that is all that anybody anywhere has been talking about, which is especially interesting to me because I have zero interest in it.
The only interesting thing about hurricane coverage is the fact that the hurricane is given a name for some reason. I guess it's just a way of personifying the storm in an effort to make it easier to hate. Anything that makes it easier to hate is a good idea in my book.
Person1: "What are you going to name your baby."
Person2: "We're naming it 'Katrina', after the thing that destroyed all of those southerners' houses."
Person1: "Aww, that's cute."
In fact, I like the idea of naming disasters so much that I think it should be expanded. People should be allowed to name whatever disasters they want.
Husband: "Hey honey, I heard that your dinner last night was such a disaster, scientists have named it Diana."
Wife: "Whatever."
Husband: "Diana was then upgraded to category-4 this morning, with a storm surge in the vicinity of our bathroom."
Wife: "Well, I heard that 'Punch in the Face Javier' is expected to cause record damage within the next few seconds."
Expect sustained winds throughout the day, with gusts that could knock over a houseplant.
