I’m sure that by now you all have heard about the woman who underwent the first face transplant surgery. That seems like it would bring up a whole host of sticky situations that wouldn’t come up for normal organ transplants. The face is a pretty sensitive issue. People aren’t going to take just any face. They probably had to come up with a whole new screening process for potential organ donors.
Interviewer: “Does you family have any history of cancer or heart disease?”
Donor: “No, not that I know of.”
Interviewer: “Any history of acne?”
Donor: “No.”
Interviewer: “Strange facial hair?”
Donor: “None.”
Interviewer: “Does ugliness run in your family?”
Donor: “Well… I have this cousin… but I think that was a childhood accident with a waffle iron.”
Interviewer: “I understand.”
I wonder if they’ll let her upgrade if a better face comes along.
