I’ve noticed that at the end of all the McDonald’s commercials they’ve started mentioning that you can pay for you food with an “Arch Card”. I was hoping that this was some sort of McDonald’s credit card created for all the people who eat so many hamburgers that they need to take out a loan to finance lunch. Sadly, this isn’t the case. The McDonald’s Arch Card is just a debit card that you can load up with money to save time at the cash register.
Spokesperson: “Now you can get in an out even quicker.”
FG: “I could save even more time if I didn’t go to McDonald’s at all. Plus, then I wouldn’t have to eat your crappy food.”
The Arch Card is also supposed to work as a gift certificate. A gift certificate to McDonald’s… I don’t know if that’s such a great idea. Having to spend a bunch of money at McDonald’s sounds like more of a homework assignment than a gift.
Person1: “You busy tonight?”
Person2: “I’ve got to go to McDonald’s.”
Person1: “Aw, that sucks. Well if you can get out of it, let me know and we’ll hang out.”
Person2: “Yeah, maybe I’ll call in sick.”
Or you could just go there and get sick for real.
