Important Holiday

It’s Mother’s Day – another Valentine’s Day-style ‘appreciation holiday’ that I don’t really get.  I mean, I like the concept of ignoring your mother for 364 days out of the year as much as the next guy, but the holiday still seems to ring a little hollow.

 

Kid:  “Here’s a card, Mom.”

Mom:  “What’s the occasion?”

Kid:  “I just wanted to show you how special you are.”

Mom:  “Oh, isn’t that sweet.”

Kid:  “Yeah, that’s just what I thought when my teacher told us we were all being forced to make cards.”

 

It was either a teacher or an executive of a corporation – somebody has to tell us what to do, or nobody would ever get cards.  And who would want to live in a world without greeting cards?  Oh, wait, I know who: males.

I wish I had one of those cool families where they celebrate Mother’s Day like it’s a real holiday, like St. Patrick’s Day or New Year’s:

 

Kid:  “What’s with mom?”

Dad:  “She’s drunk.”

Kid:  “She’s been drinking because it’s Mother’s Day?”

Dad:  “She’s been drinking because it’s Sunday afternoon.”

  Umm.. you know. I had a dream about you. You made a
post about how it was your 16th birthday. And I was like
"What the hell? He should be older..?" And I was surprised.
But its odd, why would I have a dream about you.. when..
my friend who's actually turning 16 is ... turning 16. I should
of dreamed of her! You bastard.

Anyway. Yes, my dreams are very strange. Is it your birthday?
If so.. Happy Birthday! Or, well.. happy birthday anyway. Becuase It was your birthday in my dream, and that's good enough for me! ^-^

I've always said, the only thing better than a belated birthday wish is a belated birthday wish in the description of somebody else's dream.

  For my mother on mother's day, i gave her an extra gram for no additional cost in her 8 ball.
