| The Sunday of all Sundays |

I’ve discussed in the past the fact that Sundays suck. You can’t really enjoy a Sunday because of the knowledge that at any moment a Monday could break out. Well, Labor Day falls prey to the exact same phenomena – Labor Day weekend is like a giant three day long Sunday you have to sit through before summer dies.
And, to top it all off, this Sunday of all Sundays somehow has the title of ‘holiday’ slapped across it. What kind of screwed up, backwards holiday is this where we’re supposed to enjoy the coming of the end of summer?
Mom: “Hey, kids, the cat’s going to die on Tuesday, so hurry up and enjoy him now.”
Kids: “What?!”
Mom: “Yeah, you heard me. So, the less time you spend standing around crying, the more time you’ll have to play with Fluffy. Have a nice weekend, by the way.”
Happy holidays.

Labor Day has nothing going for it. No presents, no food, no fireworks, no nothing. The least it could do is aspire to be a second-tier holiday like St. Patrick’s Day or Cinco de Mayo, and all it needs to do that is… excessive consumption of alcohol. So, in an effort to help out the floundering holiday’s image, I’m going to be spending every Labor Day getting unusually drunk. It may just be me out there for the first few years, but at least I’ll be fighting the good fight. |

Hi, back on xanga WAAAAAY back when you commented me and so I was bored, looking through old comments, came across you and decided to come check you out.
I must say, you're pretty effin' hilarious. Especially since I LOVE a good dead cat joke. Thanks for entertaining me for the night. I'm sure I'll be back. |
